Political Journalism: What Happened?

When it comes to politics, there is little we can do unless you get involved and become active in the process.   Since running Sex.com most likely will not get me elected to office in some States (no need to name them, you know who you are), I would like to use my blog to make a comment on something I have seen regarding the upcoming election.

With the advent of the Internet and sites like Google and Wikipedia, we now have information – on virtually anything – at our fingertips by clicking a few keys on a keyboard. Granted, you have to have Internet access - - for this blog let’s assume if you are reading it you do.

What I don’t understand is how people in politics now flip flop on issues and/or their position on something…..and how they think they can get away with it over and over again. Don’t these people realize that what they say one day could be found on another day via a search on Google?  Or do they just believe that people are lazy and stupid, and that we can’t connect the dots?

A friend of mine sent me a link of a video he said was both funny and disturbing at the same time. You can view the video in question here (copy link in a new browser window):

After watching this, the first thing that came to mind was how can anyone take Karl Rove seriously? Shouldn’t the media turn away next time he wants to make a statement? Why does the media even want to hear what this man has to say? Clearly, he is biased and will say anything to help his party win. After watching that video, next time I hear him speak I will see his mouth moving but the words I will hear are blah, blah, blah…..whatever.

It is things like this that make people not interested in voting, and to become disenfranchised with the system.

Thankfully, there are things you can do – like have sex with the one you love – to take your mind off of how sad politics can be sometimes.
